Getting Married at Town Creek
It's an exciting time when you are planning a wedding!
Our beautiful sanctuary and adjacent spacious fellowship hall make us an ideal venue for Christian couples looking to enter into a covenant of marriage together in a church setting.
Our pastor, Billy Shaw, may be available to serve as the officiant for your wedding. Priority is given to church members. You are not required to use Pastor Billy as your officiant, but the church must approve your officiant before booking your wedding date.
Since marriage is such an important institution, given to us by Creator God, we take it very seriously. Below are some details that may be of interest to you as you think about having your wedding at Town Creek.

Marriage Prerequisites
Town Creek requires that you and your future spouse participate in a pre-marital counseling course with our Pastor, Billy Shaw, or with your approved officiant. If you choose to use Pastor Billy as your officiant, his pre-marital counseling course consists of eight in-person sessions of about 45-60 minutes in length.
The goal of this course is to prevent your marriage from becoming a statistic and ending in divorce. You will tackle issues such as roles within the home, family planning, finances, and more. Couples find this course helpful in deepening their bond and preparing themselves to use their marriage to glorify God.
Town Creek requires that both bride and groom have a sound Christian testimony through which they profess faith in Jesus Christ. As a church, we believe that the Bible forbids a believer from entering into marriage with an unbeliever. We also require that unmarried individuals practice celibacy and maintain separate living arrangements before being married. In the case of a remarriage following a divorce, the church requires that the circumstances of the divorce fall within biblical guidelines for the dissolution of a marriage covenant (e.g., adultery or abuse).
